Qiusha Luo is currently a DPhil student in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. Originally from China, he completed his MSc in Mechanical Engineering at Tianjin University, where he focused on the characterization of plastic deformation behaviour in anisotropic sheet metals. Prior to this, he obtained a BEng in Industrial Design (Autobody Engineering) at Jilin University in 2020.
His current research is focused on hierarchical foam-lattice metamaterials, aiming to achieve tailored control of both mechanical and degradation properties. His work involves the inverse design of novel hierarchical mechanical metamaterials and the development of multiscale modelling frameworks spanning fabrication to structural performance. This work has potential applications in areas such as biomedical devices and lightweight aerospace structures.
